Marble Wood "Exotic Wood"
Tell a Friend
Marblewood is an exotic wood that comes from South America. Here is what "Hobbithouseinc.com" has to say about it, and he deals with Exotic woods all the time.
MARBLEWOOD
Zygia racemosa
Zygia racemosa (syn. Marmaroxylon racemosum, Pithecellobium racemosum) of the family Leguminosae (subfamily Mimosoideae), the legume or pea family
NOTE: there are numerous woods that have the common name "marblewood" (notably East Indian Ebony but many others as well), but this is what should really be meant when using that term. It is very distinctive, rare, and expensive. It is a South American wood and looks somewhat like zebrawood but with a wider spacing of the light/dark stripes.
The Marblewood Exotic flag case that I am working on should be on my site by Dec. 1, 2008. Please stop by and do tell a friend to have a look as well.
Thanks, Richard (MFDC)
Wenge Wood "Exotic Wood"

Tell a Friend
Hello this is Richard! I have just completed my newest style of Exotic MFDC (flag case). The wood is called "Wenge" wood, it comes from Central Africa (Tanzinia and Mozambique). Its colors are brown tones, from light to dark. You have to see it to just get a taste of its beauty. Seeing it in person says it all.
This MFDC is 5" (inches) in width and hand crafted "stoppers" are attached to the inside of the flag case so that the burial flag does not move around. The Wenge MFDC is litely decorated on the front, but the Exotic wood is the main attraction.
Please visit my site and look at all the others that I have created. If you have any questions, just ask. You can email me from my "Contact" page. I love answering any and all questions about my craft.
Have a Blessed day!

Flag Case Questions?
Tell a Friend
Hello All! I check to see which keywords are used to get to my site all the time. There are alot of you out there that get to my site by entering the following:
*How to stain Oak or Poplar wood.
*Wood uneven color.
*Which wood brings out the best stain color?
*How do I get find my angles (for making a flag case)
*Exotic Woods
*What type of wood is best for a flag case?
The list goes on and on. The one thing that I don't see is the Emails asking me additional questions. I know that my site does not cover all your questions, and I am working on that. There are just too many varieables to write about.
Do me this favor. If you have a question that my site does not cover, ask me. I am not saying that I will know all the answers, but what I don't know I can find out. I can then write an article about Questions & Answers, that will help someone else out.
Thank you for your time. Please tell a friend about my work.

Curly Maple Flag Case
Tell a Friend
Curly Maple (exotic wood) Flag case
I am in the process of crafting a very beautiful Curly Maple Flag Display Case. The wood is more exquisite than I thought it would be. The pictures you see of the wood are close, but when you see it up close you find yourself wanting to touch it. This Exotic Wood looks 3D but is flat and smooth.
I am making two MFDC "Curly Maples" right now. One for a customer and one for the website (for sale). The MFDC for the site will not be stained any color, I will craft this so that its own Natural Beauty comes alive. I believe you will like it.
Come back and visit this blog (Add to favorites), and my website to see the Curly Maple MFDC in a week or so.
Thanks for reading!
Richard (MFDC)
